The group is owned by Mr. Nemichand L. Poddar an experienced businessman who has been associated with construction activities for more that three decades. He heads Nirman Group of Companies, which have varied interests in various business , ranging from Construction, Land development, BOT Projects, Building Material Supply, and Agriculture. Over the years, the group has evolved as one of the most reputed and successful business house of Nashik.

Nirman group forayed into construction activities since 1980, when Nashik was a sleepy little Pilgrimage town, Whose economy was primarily driven by agriculture and horticulture activities. The city has developed into one of the major industrial townships and is host to many leading national as well as multinational companies. The city has also developed into a major educational centre. This exponential growth has led to many business opportunities and of one of them is development of real estate. Having the business acumen, he sensed the changing face of Nashik from a holy place to an industrial town and a preferred residential location. He fathomed the tremendous growth potential for housing construction and land development in Nashik in the coming future. This initiated the formation of Nirman Group in 1980. The group is managed by Mr. Nemichand L poddar with his son Mr Vipul Poddar, a young and dynamic civil engineer and managing all construction activities with his professional approach. Mr. Mahendra Poddar, the second son, after completing his BE mech. is taking care of all non real estate & BOT project activities and Mr. Hitesh Poddar, the youngest son, after completing his MBA has recently joined the groups activities.

Besides the construction activities, the group is also actively engaged in Agriculture, with about 100 Acres agricultural land out of which 50 Acres of land is under mango cultivation and about 10 acres of land under Grapes cultivation.

In 1997 - 98, the group saw the writing on the walk about the emerging opportunities in Infrastructure development and thus was born the idea of a company which would undertake BOT projects.
